Basic / Gentle

This class combines the benefits of gentle stretching and toning with soothing re-energizing restorative postures, both active and passive as well as chair work. The class will include a strong emphasis on the breath, encouraging deeper, smoother breathing which aids in slowing the heartbeat, reducing the flow of adrenalin and increasing the flow of endorphins.... helping students to tap into the body's natural tranquilizer. Suitable for all levels, even beginners.

 

Classes: Overview

Advanced
An advanced class developing strength and depth through advanced postures and longer holdings. Pranayama, relaxation, meditation. Home practice is helpful.

Anusara Yoga, is a modern system of hath yoga developed by John Friend in 1997.  It integrates  biomechanical principles of alignment with action through inner body awareness and attitude in celebration of the heart.  The classes are appropriate for anyone who has been practicing yoga for a year or more.

Basic Plus  

A great place to begin for new students or those wanting to revisit the fundamentals.  Instruction includes standing postures, balancing, backbends, twists, forward bends and inversions. Though basic, the “Plus” indicates that more challenging modifications will be offered. Yogic breathing techniques and relaxation are part of every class.

 

Intermediate                  

Building on the basics. A full yoga practice with standing postures, backbends, forward bends, twists, balancing and inversions. Modifications offered. Yogic breathing, (pranyama), relaxation and basic meditation.

All Levels

 In this class, all levels of experience are welcome, from beginners to more experienced practitioners.  Together we will explore practices to gently awaken into the new day, including deepening with the breath, self-massage, awareness through movement exercises, and a progression of asanas, all informed by a spiritual theme.

Power Vinyasa Based on the yoga teaching methodology of Baron Baptiste, "Power Vinyasa" is an active and challenging flow, a delightful blend of movement, breath, sweat and serenity.
