Our Teachers

Ann Flanneryis a Certified Professional Yoga teacher with Advanced Level training. Ann has been practicing yoga since 1990 and teaching yoga since 2000.

Ann began her yoga teacher training at the Kripalu Center in Lenox MA. Her continuing Yoga studies include the Iyengar tradition and Anusara methodology.

Ann’s teaching is primarily based in the Kripalu Yoga tradition and philosophy. To approach practice with compassion for one’s self, open to witnessing what unfolds.

Her classes are influenced by her love of movement and athletics as well the power of experiencial learning. She enjoys creating a space, both physically and spiritually to support students in their self discovery and the discovery of the many benefits that the ancient practice of Yoga offers.

Ann enjoys working with wood and has been a cabinetmaker since 1975. She has a deep passion for boats and being on the water and is a U.S. Coast Guard licensed Captain.

Kara Douglasbegan practicing yoga in 1998 while working as a naturalist in California’s San Bernardino Mts. Incorporating her background in Biology and Environmental Science, she teaches with respect and reverence for the body, mind and nature. Kara’s training includes methodology from traditional systems of health as well as the Yin, Astanga and Kripalu Yoga lineages. Leah Barreras began her yoga journey in 2011 at Sonic Yoga receiving her 200 RYT in the vibrant city of Manhattan while also working in the arts. She incorporates her passion for dance, song and theater with the flowie-ness of her class structure, by making each pose a dance in itself. Her light-hearted nature brings a sense of playfulness to the space while also rooting in focus and presence. Integrated within her style is a background in Reiki, Hatha Yoga and Intuitive Massage. Lina Oh has been practicing yoga since 2005. She has completed a 200 hour Pranakriya Yoga Teacher Training and is currently working towards completing her 500 Hour Professional Level Yoga Certification with Pranakriya School of Yoga Healing Arts. Lina’s classes are full of heart and emphasize the transformative power of tantric hatha yoga. Yoga is about returning you to who you really are and it is this belief that grounds and colors her teaching style. Lina delights in guiding students through asanas that are profoundly self-determined and individualized so that each body may feel and be more of itself.
